Additional Deep Forest Information
|
The primordial unknown--or the modern urban dweller's impressions thereof--has long been a staple of New Age music. So it was only a matter of time before some studio whiz got the notion to take the translation process one step further and bring that atmosphere to the dance floor. It's definitely authentic--the creators studied and borrowed genuine chants from African tribes--but just as importantly, it's remarkably seductive. The chart-topping signature song, "Sweet Lullaby," is indicative of what's going on in the grooves of the other nine tracks; ambient house beats burble pastorally while "multi-culti" samples ebb and flow gracefully, even romantically, through the mix. -- David Sprague

I highly recommend this CD. It's a very cool cd and the last song, Forest Hymm, is one of my favorite songs.
Awesome CD. These musicians have a strong following for a reason. I bought this when it first came out and somehow lost it over the past year. I was very pleased to be able to find a good copy at an excellent price given the fact that, since it's no longer being published, I've seen prices from $40 - $100 for one of these CD's. Definitely different electronica. Awesome world music blend.
I was told the condition was very good but some there are several gashes in the cd and playing the 1 title is impossible. Slightly disapointed but I believe this version is hard to find or at least a lot more expensive without damage. Case is damaged too. Delivery was ok.
I originally got it when it first came out, and still love it. This is a truly Shamanic album. I really can't compare it to anything else. I'll usually keep my CDs for 5 years or so and then sell them due to financial hell. But in my collection now, the CDs I have kept the longest are this one and Joshua Tree by U2, both of which I bought when they came out and can't bring myself to sell, as they withstand the test of time.
Replacement of a cassette tape which was so beat we had to throw it out.
